What is Slow Travel?

What is slow travel and why in the world would you want to travel slowly?

Jain Palace-Udaipur, India

I began to travel slowly towards mid-life.  Before that, I was eager, like most people I know,  to see as much as I could in as little time as possible. Seeing the sites, crossing items off the proverbial “bucket list”, and rush, rush, rush!

I am not sure if it is the white hairs (there are many) or the wrinkles (there are many more of those), but as I began to travel slowly, my enjoyment grew. I started this blog to encourage people to slow down, stop and savor.  If you are curious about slow travel, read my Seven Rules for Slow Travel.  If you think this type of travel may not be for you, you will likely still enjoy my blogposts that highlight my travels.
