Kosher Travel

Kosher travelling can be challenging, but really it all depends on how you look at it.  Is it restrictive? Or, does it allow you opportunities to go places and do things that tourists rarely do?  Shopping in local outdoor markets, and supermarkets is one of the great pleasures of slow travel.  Looking around, soaking up the sites, the aromas, the colors, people and textures all add to the enjoyment of being in a new country.

A few tips for the the novice kosher traveller:

Take your frying pan and spatula wherever you go.  In many places, particularly in Asia, you can ask the local chef if you can join him in the kitchen and cook your own food.  Imagine how much fun that is!  Also, necessary implements are a cutting board and a good knife, and a roll of silver foil.  With those five items you can enjoy your kosher culinary adventures.
